We are still in Katoomba in the Blue Mountains... We had a great nights sleep and then had breakfast in a cafe with the most amazing view ever over the Jameson Valley. We spent the majority of today on the Scenic Walkway which is a route down into the valley on a very steep (52') railway and a cable car. The children LOVED the railway ride which is like a fairground ride heading straight down at speed. Just look at those faces in the photo below. We spent all morning and part of the afternoon walking in the rainforest and later viewing part of the Katoomba falls... There is soo much beautiful scenery to see ... and it is not boring .. sometimes you can see something beautiful and you almost get used to the beauty. Here it is spell binding (or as Katie says, "it puts you in a trace"). The picture below is of the children in front of the Katoomba Falls.
After a short rest .. we walked back to the local View Point .. and the kids enjoyed a bit of basketball ... there is always time for a spot of basketball when Jackson is around ! We have been really lucky with the weather .. warm sunshine and uninterrupted views.
I did look up some aboriginal history and was totally shocked at the treatment they have suffered and also to find out that it wasn't until the late 1960s that they even got a vote.
Tomorrow we are heading back to Manly after a really special time in the Blue Mountains. xxx
