Back at the Opera House

Katie & Ashleigh's Blog : At 05:00 in the morning me and Ashleigh woke up. We were very cheeky waking up then and got told off by Mum. At 06:00 we went upstairs and played minecraft. I know that in normal houses that you have bedrooms upstairs but in Ashleigh's house they are downstairs. Finally we had breakfast, I had four delicious pancakes. Then it was time to set off.

We went to Manly Wharf to catch a ferry to Sydney. On the journey it got really really rocky. Then the ferry turned the corner and we saw the beautiful Opera House and the stunning Sydney Harbour Bridge. It was a wonderful sight to see and Mum kept taking pictures of me, my friend Ashleigh, and her brother Jackson. It was very windy and our hair kept going crazy. We finally arrived in the amazing Sydney Harbour.
We went inside the Sydney Opera House and had a look around it was very incredible. Then we went around the amazing Botanical Gardens. We had some trouble when I accidentally sat in something. It wouldn't come off so I put my raincoat on it so no-one would notice. We went for lunch at the Opera House Bar. Me, Ashleigh and Jackson had fish and chips.

After a long day in Sydney we went home and decided to do some Aboriginal art.

Gill's Blog : The ferry from Manly to Circular Quay in Sydney takes around 30 minutes. The journey is like the Staten Island Ferry... a commuter journey past an iconic site. It's been 23 years since I was last at the Sydney Opera House and it was quite moving to be back there.. and with Katie. We are very lucky to be seeing so much, guided by Katharine, Jackson & Ashleigh.  We're missing everyone at home, but having a very special time here indeed.
