The Most Amazing Chocolate Shop ..

Gill's Blog :  Katie's a bit under the weather today, but she wanted me to tell you all about the Blue Mountains Chocolate Shop .. not the Leura Falls (picture above), not the wonderful views over the Blue Mountains or the magnificent views as we crossed Sydney Harbour Bridge in the car this afternoon... no, she would like me to make sure that you know that this morning we all had breakfast in the Blue Mountains Chocolate Shop

It was pretty impressive.. You could make your own hot chocolate. The kids were given a tray with a ramekin of chocolate buttons, a small jug of warm milk and a long cup which had a tea light in the bottom and a stainless steel vessel for the milk above. There was also a metal straw with a spoon paddle on the end of it. The kids made their own hot chocolate by adding the chocolate buttons into the warming milk, stirring and then drinking it. Then they could top up the milk in their steel cup from their little jug. They were thrilled with this and Katie wanted to make sure that her friends back home (esp. Zoe, who she just missed factiming tonight) all knew about it.  In all fairness to Katie, it was pretty cool !

For me the chocolate shop was great .. but the falls were very special. We walked down into the valley to see the falls first thing this morning. The smell of the ferns and rich green vegetation combined with the sparkling fresh water was wonderful.   As it happens Leura is the place where my (and I hope i have got this right) my (step) grandfather's long lost brother lived... Undoubtedly he did the walk I did many times in his life.  My (step) grandfather was amazingly kind to my brother and I. It was nice to be in Leura to complete that missing piece for him.

Since we've been back home in Manly, Kate has been resting, but I thought I would show all my quilting friends my quilts being put to good use here this evening... I've been buying fabric badges to put on them.. so maybe tomorrow I will get my travelling sewing kit out !  Hopefully my top blogging team will be back on form tomorrow... so I can have a rest and leave it to them !  xxx
