Kayaking at Narrabeen

Katie & Ashleigh’s Blog : I woke up with Mum this morning and I slept in but when I woke up everyone was upstairs except me and Mum. I only had some delicious watermelon for breakfast because I didn’t feel like having toast or cereal.

At about 10am we went to Narrabeen Lake and me and Ashleigh went kayaking. It was really funny in the car because Harry was on my lap looking out of the window and Ashleigh’s Dad was behind us in another car and we kept waving at him. When me and Ashleigh were in the kayaks we were talking about what game we should play when we get back in the end we agreed to play the same game that we played last night until 9pm. Me and Ashleigh went on two kayak treks to an island which wasn’t an island and the other trek was a long one to a big island so we never went round it because it was just me and Ashleigh in the kayaks so we have to keep in sight of our parents at all time.

When me and Ashleigh got back we played our fun game until my Mum said “time to read.” We read for half an hour and then we got bored. We asked my Mum “what should we do?” She said “Do you want to help me with the cooking.” We decided to help so we chose to bake cupcakes and scones. I did the scones and Ashleigh did the cupcakes. Then we put them in the oven. Just writing about baking made us think that we still have to do the icing ...

Gill’s Blog : Tonight we are having a BBQ .. on the deck .. how Aussie is that ! Then we will have scones with jam and cream for ‘pudding’.  After the BBQ we are settling down for an episode of Home and Away as we can’t find Neighbours on the telly here! See we are getting proper Australian now !!
